Cannabis Kid

September 5, 2018

Although the use of cannabis to cure cancer is still considered debatable, after being failed by chemotherapy a 7-year-old MykaylaComstock was saved by cannabis.

A little about Mykayla’s condition:

Mykayla had T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. It is a very rare and aggressive form of childhood leukaemia, leukaemia is cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Because of the cancer, Mykayla’s DNA was altered and the alteration caused her bone marrow to start producing leukemic white blood cells. These immature white blood cells are known as “lymphoblasts”. Lymphoblasts never die, they build up and accumulate in the chest area causing a mass/tumour.

On July 14,2012 after being sick for months, Mykayla was diagnosed with Leukaemia, in the following week she had to undergo a surgery to remove the mass of lymphoblasts from her chest. She had to undergo the surgerywithout any aesthetic because of the risks her conditions posed. And as conventional medicine dictates, Mykayla began chemotherapy and her lymphoblasts level was monitored daily.

Her lymphoblast level would go down after receiving chemotherapy but after a few days it would go back up and sometimes higher than before chemotherapy. When the doctors saw that chemotherapy wasn’t working, they were concerned. They talked to Mykayla’s parents about the possibility of Mykayla having a bone marrow transplant due to the leukaemia not going into remission.

Mykayla's Lymphoblast Counts

The parents refused the idea of a bone marrow transplant and chose to go with cannabis. It took them a week to get a recommendation and a state medicinal marijuana licence.  Mykayla began cannabis therapy on July 24th 2012, the changes in her conditions were immediate! She was eating, happier, she played and laughed like a normal kid. One week after the oil treatment began,Mykayla’s leukaemia had vanished from her bone marrow and blood.

The photo’s from her page, so we can use it right?

On 2 August,2017 Mykayla celebrated her 5-year cancer free anniversary, she is extremely healthy these days and shows no signs of late effects. She has become a celebrity of sorts in the cannabis world, her story has inspired many families to try cannabis in the fight against cancer.

“The evidence is overwhelming that marijuana can relieve certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by such illnesses as multiple sclerosis, cancer and AIDS — or by the harsh drugs sometimes used to treat them. And it can do so with remarkable safety. Indeed, marijuana is less toxic than many of the drugs that physicians prescribe every day.”
